The call to “serve God by serving others” is one that the Stillwater Church of Christ takes seriously. The Benevolence and Outreach Ministry offers many opportunities to get your family connected by serving others. The message from Romans 12:1 to “first offer yourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God” is a call for each of us to be what God wants us to be:
Do good unto all men (Gal. 6:10)
Help especially brethren (Gal. 6:10)
Visit and take care of widows and orphans (James 1:27)
Minister to needs of the congregation (Acts 6:1-6)
Remember the poor (Gal 2:10)
Give to those in need (Eph. 4:28)
The Benevolence and Outreach Ministry is involved in many local and community efforts to assist those with spiritual and physical needs. Regular outreach efforts include Mission of Hope Monday night devotionals, Christian Villa worship, Grace Living Center devotionals, Prayer Night, and Food Pantry. The Stillwater church also works closely as a member of Stillwater Cares, Charity Tracker, Bridges Out of Poverty, the new Food Bank Resource Center called “Our Daily Bread,” and supports and offers “Getting Ahead” training for those in need. Other activities include Sunday rides to church, Thanksgiving/Christmas assistance to families and seasonal clothing drives, local needs and assistance.
We invite you to consider how your family can participate by serving in one or more of these ministry efforts as we work toward the goal of “Transforming Lives into the Likeness of Christ.”
